Les raisons sont multiples et aujourd\u2019hui, nous allons explorer l\u2019une des causes majeures : les fluctuations hormonales.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Depuis longtemps, la science a \u00e9tabli <strong>un lien entre le sommeil et le cycle menstruel des femmes<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>L\u2019hormone en cause est la progest\u00e9rone<\/strong>, produite par les ovaires, et impliqu\u00e9e dans nos cycles menstruels et dans la grossesse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Quel lien avec le sommeil&nbsp;? La progest\u00e9rone <strong>influence la s\u00e9cr\u00e9tion d\u2019autres hormones essentielles aux m\u00e9canismes de base du sommeil<\/strong>. Elle exerce ainsi un effet s\u00e9datif indirect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Or <strong>la concentration de la progest\u00e9rone va consid\u00e9rablement varier lors des cycles menstruels, de la grossesse et de la m\u00e9nopause<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Cycle menstruel et Sommeil\u00a0: un r\u00e9cit en trois actes<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Le cycle menstruel commence le 1<sup>er<\/sup> jour des r\u00e8gles<\/strong>. Pendant environ dix jours, <strong>le taux de progest\u00e9rone est au plus bas<\/strong>, rendant <strong>l\u2019endormissement plus difficile<\/strong> et le <strong>sommeil plus l\u00e9ger<\/strong>. Un taux bas de progest\u00e9rone signifie aussi un taux bas de s\u00e9rotonine, \u00ab\u00a0l\u2019hormone du bonheur \u00bb, ce qui peut entra\u00eener des troubles de l\u2019humeur propices aux insomnies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Au 14<sup>\u00e8me<\/sup> jour de notre cycle, c\u2019est l\u2019ovulation\u00a0; la progest\u00e9rone commence \u00e0 \u00eatre s\u00e9cr\u00e9t\u00e9e.<\/strong> Un des effets imm\u00e9diats est la <strong>hausse de la temp\u00e9rature corporelle la nuit<\/strong>. Or pour bien dormir, nous avons besoin que cette temp\u00e9rature baisse\u00a0! Cette hausse provoque une <strong>perturbation du sommeil<\/strong> avec notamment moins de sommeil lent profond et une difficult\u00e9 \u00e0 atteindre correctement le stade du sommeil paradoxal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On estime que pr\u00e8s de 20 % des femmes rencontrent des probl\u00e8mes de sommeil pendant cette p\u00e9riode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>La derni\u00e8re semaine du cycle, celle pr\u00e9c\u00e9dant les r\u00e8gles, le taux de progest\u00e9rone chute fortement<\/strong>. L\u2019endormissement devient plus long, le sommeil plus l\u00e9ger et fragment\u00e9 avec davantage de micro-r\u00e9veils. Certaines femmes ressentent \u00e9galement un syndrome pr\u00e9menstruel intense, avec des sympt\u00f4mes (troubles de l\u2019humeur, douleurs diverses) perturbant le sommeil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br><strong>La Grossesse : Les montagnes russes nocturnes<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<p><strong>1<sup>er<\/sup> trimestre\u00a0: la souveraine somnolence<\/strong>\u00a0:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lors de ce premier trimestre, <strong>la progest\u00e9rone augmente<\/strong>, allongeant la dur\u00e9e du sommeil mais augmentant aussi les micro-r\u00e9veils, rendant le <strong>sommeil moins r\u00e9parateur<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce trimestre se caract\u00e9rise surtout pour certaines femmes par <strong>une grande somnolence diurne<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2<sup>nd<\/sup> trimestre\u00a0: le r\u00e9veil de B\u00e9b\u00e9<\/strong>\u00a0:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le <strong>temps total de sommeil diminue<\/strong>, mais le sommeil lent profond augmente. Les mouvements du b\u00e9b\u00e9 commencent \u00e0 provoquer des r\u00e9veils intempestifs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3<sup>\u00e8me<\/sup> trimestre\u00a0: le chaos nocturne<\/strong>\u00a0:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le sommeil devient plus chaotique avec des <strong>\u00e9veils nocturnes fr\u00e9quents<\/strong> et <strong>une qualit\u00e9 de sommeil r\u00e9duite<\/strong>.
